Unmet Dreams, Goals, Expectations

Whether it be your own or your child, we can learn skills for dealing with unmet dreams and goals.

Trauma, Grief and Loss

We have all had loss in our lives. There are stages that we go through when we lose something. Sometimes it’s difficult to get through the stages without some help.

Anxiety and Stress

Life, with the many curve balls that get thrown our way, can lead to feeling anxious. You can learn skills to cope with these feelings.

All of us have been thrown many curve balls during our lives. Some of those curve balls are thrown harder than others, and cause us to go off kilter. Some examples include losing a loved one to suicide, or having our dreams and goals crushed due to something beyond our control. As parents, we may get discouraged when our children don’t live up to their potential. At some point, we may realize that the coping skills that had been successful in the past are not working due to whatever curve ball has been thrown at us! My expertise includes helping children who have been having trouble coping in the classroom. I have worked with a large school board for over twenty years teaching children in grade K-12 skills to be successful in the classroom. These are often children who have gone through some type of trauma, or just children who have not learned skills to be successful in a classroom environment. I work with parents and children to help their child reach his/her full potential. In addition, I offer group sessions to help people deal with the loss of a loved one who died by suicide. It is helpful to share feelings and coping strategies with others who have been through, or are currently going through, this complicated type of grieving.
